Bald eagles became the national emblem in 1782.
They eat mainly fish, rodents, waterfowl, and carion.
They live 15-20 years.
Bald eagles have a wingspan of 72 to 90 inches (6 to 7.5 feet) and weigh up to 14 pounds.
